Yes we have added a new page to our website dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of 9-11-01.
Our goal is to provide any 9/11 first responder with support and to provide them with early detection healthcare which may be a direct result from being at Ground Zero.
Almost 20 years ago, on September 11, 2001 we tragically lost members of our beloved FDNY community. We still remember and honor those fallen heroes and family members that were taken from us on that day. What many people may not be aware of, are the losses that are still continuing to happen because of that day.
In November of 2019, Lt. Richard G. Estreicher passed away from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. When Rich’s doctors gave him this diagnosis, only 2 months prior in September of 2019, they believed that it was a direct result of his work on Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks. At the time, our FDNY & NYPD had no idea what they were breathing in and what dangers they had actually put themselves in. As time has gone on, we find out more and more about the health issues that these brave men and women are facing. Studies show that by the time of the 20th anniversary, the number of aftermath deaths due to 9/11 related diseases will exceed the original death toll. And that is why this foundation was started.
Our first responders need and deserve better testing, screenings and awareness for these diseases. The Live Rich Foundation will be the voice and the information that 9/11 families need. We strive to support and provide our heroes with early detection healthcare so they can get the treatment they need, when they need it.
